چکیده
Nociceptive pain is a sensational discomfort that usually associated with injury or illness found affecting the body either internally externally. Crossopteryx febrifuga one of medicinal plants which are locally used in management especially North Central Region Nigeria. Many conventional drugs being applied managing aside not affordable and readily accessible by majority people at rural areas have side effect other. Therefore, this research was conducted to evaluate potentiality aqueous extract C. alleviating Wistar rats. The study carried out using acetic acid induced writhing Edson hot plate methods. On pain, 50 100 mg/kg inhibited significantly reducing number average 3.9 per minute while 200 mg/kg, reduced 4.2 minute. Similarly, all doses administered method increasing time rats took jump off plate. data obtained from analgesic suggests it has anti-nociceptive property as evident both models. This, therefore revealed plant leaf possessed peripherally centrally mediated properties. For reason, could be potential antinociceptive agent if subjected clinical trial proved
